Marine & Joe´s home
Series of renovations throughout the years
How to make cool and sturdy home renovations in New York for little money? Very difficult but possible!
We started in 2010 renovating the kitchen -- from a Home Depot kitchen to a pine solid and clean door´s facade (with Ikea´s inner cabinet´s structure) -- making new closets and creating new storage space (almost inexistent in New York homes) in the entrance corridor and renovating the bathroom.
Ten years later they wanted to renovate the kitchen again in white. This time the market for custom doors for Ikea´s cabinet´s structure was much more developped and we could custom the doors and choose from an array of lacquered fiinishes.
Also the door nobs were magnificent in solid brass painted black and were shipped from New Zealand at a very resonable price.
We bought the last Bourellecq table they had at the MoMA store to go with it, which was also not extremly expensive considering the quality and the design.
Next project was making heat covers for all the ugly heaters in plain sight. I love this little project I made for them. It was during covid and it was impossible to find an afforable budget to build them and finally they never made them, before selling the house last year.
